Josh Hamilton hurts left knee for fourth time in two seasons

Cornerback. That position and wide receiver were the two biggest need areas entering the offseason. The Eagles handled the latter by signing veterans Alshon Jeffrey (Chicago) and Torrey Smith (San Francisco). The former will almost certainly be addressed early in April’s draft.

Left/right tackle. Ereck Flowers can be a great right tackle. He’ll never be a great left tackle. Either way, the Giants need a solid complementary bookmark for Flowers. Newcomer D.J. Fluker isn’t the answer either. A former right tackle in San Diego, Fluker said he was signed to play right guard.

It’s been a rough couple of years for Josh Hamilton.

The former comeback success story, whose rebound from drug addict to MVP is in the process of being turned into a movie , suffered yet another injury setback Wednesday.

Hamilton “tweaked his left knee,” according to MLB.com’s TR Sullivan . He Cheap Essendon Jerseys will head back to Texas for further examination.

The former All-Star has had surgery on that knee three times in the past two years, so news of another tweak can’t be welcome.

The Rangers were reportedly hoping to move Hamilton to first base after signing him to a minor league deal this offseason.

If this injury to his knee is serious, it’s fair to assume a fourth complication over such a short span could potentially put the 35-year-old’s career in jeopardy.

Fox interested in bringing Tony Romo into booth as analyst, report says

Everyone wants Tony Romo these days, even Fox Sports.

The longtime Cowboys quarterback tweeted his goodbye to the team Thursday amid speculation he would get traded or released this week. Neither of those things have happened, which has left some to believe Romo might retire.

Romo, who turns 37-years-old next month, is wanted by Fox to serve as an analyst in their booth, per ESPN.com. Romo would replace John Lynch, who left to become the 49ers general manager in late January.

Last season Romo started the year by breaking his back during the preseason. He then watched rookie Dak Prescott take his place as the team’s starting quarterback.

Teams like the Texans, who just sent free-agent bust Brock Osweiler to the Browns, and the Broncos are believed to be the most interested in Romo’s services.

Should Romo retire and join the booth, he will do so as Dallas’ franchise leader in passing yards and touchdown passes.

This group isn’t flashy, but it’s more reliable than most. Crawford has always had an outstanding glove, and he has come into his own as a hitter the past few seasons. Belt, finally entrenched as the full-time first baseman, has produced WARs of 3.9 and 4.3 the past two years. Panik hit .309 his first two partial seasons in the majors (173 games total), but dipped to just .239 last year. His bounce-back Cheap Bike Jerseys will be key. Nunez had his best MLB season last year, combining for 16 homers and 40 stolen bases with the Twins and Giants. Can he repeat that? It’s a valid question.

For once, Jets resist urge to add to quarterback woes

The Jets went into the NFL Draft as living proof of an old adage: When you have too many quarterbacks, you have no quarterback.

Yet as the draft rolled on to the third day and the late rounds, the Jets kept picking, kept trading, kept moving around бн and kept taking everybody except quarterbacks. When they took their final player Saturday afternoon, they had stockpiled fifth- and sixth-round picks, filled needs in their secondary, got help with pass catchers бн but still had the same underwhelming people throwing to them.

Seattle’s final pick of the third round might have the most amazing back story of any player selected in the 2017 draft. Michigan receiver Amara Darboh was the 106th overall selection and the penultimate pick Friday, ending a long journey to get to the NFL.

A native of Sierra Leone, the 6-2, 215-pound Darboh emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 7 with his siblings after their parents were both killed during the Sierra Leone Cheap Goalie Jerseys Soccer Civil War. They settled in Iowa and Darboh earned a scholarship to Michigan, where he developed into a productive receiver. Darboh caught 151 passes for 2,062 yards and 14 touchdowns over his career, ending with 57 receptions for 862 yards and seven scores last season to earn All-Big Ten honors. He moves well in open space and is a smooth route runner. Darboh has an incredible work ethic to go with excellent size, though he does have some difficulty getting off press coverage.

NFL Draft 2017: BYU product Jamaal Williams powers up running game for Packers, Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers doesn’t need a consistent running game behind him for the Green Bay Packers to be successful.

Rodgers, however, should want that running game behind him as he enters his 10th season as the starting quarterback.

That’s the path back to a Super Bowl for the first time since 2010. Green Bay GM Ted Thompson obliged with a shrewd fourth-round pick of BYU running back Jamaal Williams on Saturday. He’s the power back this offense needs, wants and can use heading into the next run in 2017.

Green Bay will be in that Super Bowl contender conversation as long as Rodgers is quarterback. He proved that last year by leading Green Bay to an eight-game win streak between the regular-season and playoffs that pushed the Packers to the NFC championship game against Atlanta.

Peppers is a playmaker, and he could do it anywhere on the field. He had 72 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and four sacks while playing as an undersized linebacker at Michigan. He can play Cheap Barcelona Jerseys cornerback, nickel back and safety, and can add value in the return game. Peppers’ coverage skills will be the determining factor with this pick, and he’ll be propped up against Ohio State’s Malik Hooker, who went 10 picks earlier to the Colts.

The disclaimer is always included: Workouts are voluntary, but …

It’s exhausting. It needs to stop. It sucks up energy that could be applied elsewhere (for example, why Mike Mularkey is still being trusted with a young, rebuilding, contending Titans team led by a prodigy like Marcus Mariota).

Colin Kaepernick supporters no match for reality of NFL, inside and out

Two days before the draft, Kaepernick was honored at a New York gala as one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People.

The weekend of the draft, Kaepernick donated custom-made suits at a parole office in Queens, for those who are leaving incarceration, homelessness or victimization and need them to help them get jobs.

Last weekend in Chicago, he held another Know Your Rights camp, like the one he held in Oakland last season, to educate youths about, among other things, their legal rights when encountering law enforcement. Former 49ers teammate Eric Reid, who joined him in his anthem protests last season, also joined him at the camp.

My brother, you have been such an inspiration to the community. I’m so glad to have been able to attend another @yourrightscamp @kaepernick7 pic.twitter.com/AUhTYZxft4

Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU: Sutton decided to return to SMU for his redshirt junior season. The 6-4, 215-pound Sutton caught 76 passes for 1,246 yards and 10 touchdowns last year to earn first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors.

Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville: The 2016 Heisman Trophy winner put up video game numbers as a sophomore and will look to prove himself as college football’s top quarterback this season. He’s 6-3, 205 pounds and will likely declare for the draft with another stellar season.

Sam Hubbard, DE, Ohio State: Hubbard started as a true freshman in 2015 and has 16 1/2 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in two seasons. He’s a 6-5, 266-pound defensive end Cheap New Zealand Warriors Jerseys with flexibility to play as either a 4-3 or 3-4 end.

Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama: Ridley will have to be more consistent as a pass catcher, but the 6-1, 188-pound receiver does have elite NFL ability. He caught 72 passes last year and has 161 receptions for 1,814 yards and 14 scores in two seasons for the Tide.

Jourdan Lewis could be another big part of that revival

The Eagles handled their defensive needs on days one and two, getting the pass rusher they needed in Tennessee all-time sack leader Derek Barnett and then adding another first-round Sports Cheap Jerseys talent by selecting Sidney Jones at No. 43. Donnel Pumphrey could be the next Darren Sproles — a diminutive, explosive back who can make plays from several different roles.

Evan Engram is a nice pick, but more of a luxury first-round addition to the team’s receiving corps in a draft where the Giants had pressing needs at tailback and offensive line. Wayne Gallman proved himself time and time again at Clemson, but players like Dalvin Cook, D’Onta Foreman, and Kareem Hunt would have presented value in the intervening rounds before Gallman was selected in the fourth. While this was a weak draft for linemen, New York didn’t take one until the sixth round.

Dallas patched up the holes in its defense, just not in a sexy way. The Cowboys added Taco Charlton in the first round and Chidobie Awuzie in the second to reload a defense that was torched by the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs. Jourdan Lewis could be another big part of that revival, assuming he clears up the off-fiend issues that caused him to fall to the third round. This draft was loaded with the kinds of players Dallas needed, and the franchise did a solid job to ink three potential day-one athletes with their first three choices.

But here’s the thing: many of these journalists are the same people who will be lionizing players next week for being “key contributors” when their main role on the team is to go out and hit the opposition’s star players into submission. They will be praising the efforts of checking and shutdown lines, arguing that “physically intimidating the opposition” and “sending a message” are legitimate tactics in the game.

Spurs’ Game 5 win over Grizzlies showed they haven’t lost killer instinct

With two minutes and 12 seconds left in the San Antonio Spurs’ 116-103 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, both coaches unloaded their benches. This is normal procedure during a playoff blowout, which each coach hanging on for a few minutes longer than usual, juuuuust to be sure. You can NFL Jerseys Authentic never be too cautious.

The difference in Tuesday’s game from a normal, run-of-the-mill blowout is how we got there. Only two and a half minutes prior, Memphis was surging and cut San Antonio’s lead to 102-97. Then, the Spurs rattled off a 12-0 run that effectively ended the game and triggered both coach’s closing lineups, one that sent the Memphis stars headed to the bench with their backs to the wall, and San Antonio’s contemplating the importance of finishing this series off in Memphis in Game 6.

Throughout these playoffs, this season, and even the past few years, we’ve seen huge leads evaporate in minutes. But the flip side is an obvious one: teams can grow them in moments, too, and San Antonio is a perfect example. They’re the Spurs, coached by the league’s consensus best coach and still geared to show up for a death blow when the time comes. Once the clock ticked under five minutes, something clicked in for San Antonio. After that happened, it was over.

NFL draft grades 2017: Analysts torn on Deshaun Watson’s value for Texans

The Texans have been looking for a franchise quarterback ever since becoming a franchise. Over the past three seasons alone, Houston’s starting passers have included Brock Osweiler, Tom Savage, Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett, T.J. Yates, Brandon Weeden, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Case Keenum.

That’s why paying a premium for the opportunity to select Clemson’s Deshaun Watson made sense, even if it wound up costing a pair of first-round picks. The Texans fielded the NFL’s top defense last season and should be even better once J.J. Watt returns, especially with All-American linebacker Zach Cunningham in the fold. Now, they’re betting the national champion quarterback is the man who can lead the The Best Cheap Jerseys team from good to great.

They need Watson to make a quick adjustment to fend off the Titans. Tennessee had a big draft haul, addressing its needs at wideout and in the secondary by adding Corey Davis and Adoree’ Jackson in the first round. From there, playmakers like Taywan Taylor and Jonnu Smith could be the key to the franchise’s first playoff appearance since 2008.

They weren’t the only teams to spark debate with their picks in 2017. Here’s how the rest of the AFC South fared.

I love Nick Suzuki. OHL teams fear his penalty killing prowess, because his speed and smarts and work ethic make him a lot to handle when short-handed. He also developed a scoring touch this season (45 goals, 96 points in 65 games) that make him one of the best two-way prospects at any position in the first round. Winnipeg’s lackluster special teams could use a player like Suzuki.

NBA playoffs 2017: Schedule, scores, bracket, and more

The 2017 NBA playoffs are here, after a rather amazing — and record-breaking — regular season. While the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are the favorites to meet again in the NBA Finals — which would be the first time in league history two teams met in three Cheap Discount Jerseys straight Finals — both have faced obstacles this season.

The Warriors won a league-best 67 games, the first team in NBA history to win at least 65 games in three straight seasons. They finished the season quite strong, with 15 wins in their last 16 games, but also lost Kevin Durant for five weeks with a knee injury and will have to acclimate him back in after playing just the final three regular season games as a tuneup.

Just imagine for a second that you poured your heart into a public proposal, got told no, now you’re contemplating what happened to your life and what you’ll do now, all while an entire stadium is chanting “She said no!” over and over and over again. This is a Sisyphean torment of the utmost kind.

There’s no video of the aftermath of the proposal (thankfully for the guy involved) but one intrepid fan captured video of them arguing after the proposal.

The security guard and camera guy make this incredible. They’re trapped on a catwalk during the most awkward moment anyone can endure and there’s absolutely nothing they can do.

At times like this we need to reflect on the public sports Cheap Dodgers Jerseys proposal and ask once again …

2017 NFL mock draft database: Which player is each team projected to pick?

Now that the 2016 NFL season is over, all eyes turn to the 2017 offseason. The big event is the NFL draft, scheduled for April 27-29 in Philadelphia.

The Cleveland Browns are at the top of the draft order following their 1-15 season, but they also have the No. 12 selection thanks to a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016. While there’s still time for players to climb up or slide down boards, Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett is the near consensus choice to be Cleveland’s No. 1 pick.

By surveying as many mock drafts as possible, we can get a good idea of the directions experts expect most teams to go.

With a lot of similar colors, I know some of the slices can be hard to tell apart (sorry, Raiders fans). Hover over or click on the chart and it’ll show the numbers and name for each individual slice. It also can be read like a clock with the names on the right representing the slices clockwise around the chart.
All the mock drafts used are listed at the bottom.

Webb and Mahomes are bigger and more athletic than most of their brethren. Both Cheap Liverpool Jerseys have NFL height, both ran about 4.8 40s despite weighing around 230, Webb otherwise impressed at the combine, and Mahomes ran for 22 college TDs.

Mahomes’ 2016 passer rating of 156.96 would’ve ranked No. 12 on this list of 66 seasons Cheap Jonathan Toews Jerseys by air raid QBs, behind the best years of Keenum, Beck, Smith, Kolb, and so forth. Webb’s 135.62 … wouldn’t.

NFL folks say completion percentage and games started are the most telling college QB stats. The efficient air raid should mean a leg up in the former.
