“It’s definitely something that’s very special to me because that’s something I feel I can control as a player,” Peterson told co-host Gil Brandt and me last Friday on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I can control what I put on film.
“Obviously to be a Super Bowl champ, you have to have great individual play that leads into the collective play to ultimately get you that goal. But as far as getting the Gold Jacket, I control every bit of that.”
Heading into his seventh NFL season, Peterson is off to a good start toward gridiron immortality. His statistics tell the story. The fact that Peterson registered a career-low six pass breakups along with a modest three interceptions in 2016 isn’t indicative of poor play, but rather how reticent teams are to throw in his direction.
That has created another challenge besides being given the responsibility of blanketing the opponent’s best wide receiver. Peterson must try and remain sharp play after play despite being the league’s lowest-targeted cornerback last season.
To that end, how Jackson concludes likely means it’s one and done for Osweiler.
“We are going to see a lot more of all of them this preseason and everyone in that room still has the chance to earn more opportunities and the right NHL Hockey Jerseys to lead our team as the starter when the regular season begins Nike NFL Jerseys Cheap on September 10th,” Jackson coach said.
The most realistic way Washington keeps him is if the team manages to negotiate a long-term deal before Cousins reaches free agency. Based on the negotiations of the last two offseasons, that seems like a long shot.
