The Week 1 matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins has been rescheduled for Week 11 because of the threat from Hurricane Irma, the NFL announced Wednesday. Both teams share the same bye week, and the game will be played on Nov. 19.
“The NFL announced yesterday that in the interest of public safety, in light of the continuing state of emergency, the league, in consultation with state and local officials as well as both clubs, would not play an NFL game in South Florida this week,” a league statement stated. “Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the impacted area.”
On Wednesday the Dolphins canceled practice and will have no media availability.
Hard Rock Stadium had about $500 million in renovations over the past two years, much of which went toward reinforcing the stadium to withstand a Category 4 hurricane.
Of course, the strongest projected schedule for 2017 is only about half as strong as the hardest schedule from 2016, because our team projections are naturally conservative. Going into a new season, no team is guaranteed to be as good as last year’s best team or as bad as last year’s worst team. No, not even the Jets.
The Lions have spent $111 million on their offense this year after handing Matthew Stafford a record contract, which is nearly $11 million more than any other team in the Cheap Red Sox Jerseys league. They have a combined four free-agent starters at wide receiver and on the right side of their offensive line, plus a pair of first-round picks in Eric Ebron and Taylor Decker, who will miss time after having shoulder surgery. A third, Laken Tomlinson, was just shipped off to the 49ers. Outside of running back, the Cheap Rugby Jerseys Lions have committed serious money and/or draft assets to just about every position on their offense.
